EMS is dangerous. In fact, on a per-capita basis, EMS is more dangerous than either law enforcement or fire suppression. This presentation traces each phase of an EMS response and associates specific mechanisms of injury with each. It will discuss specific countermeasures that can be employed to prevent or mitigate work-related injuries and cover how to create a "culture of safety" in your agency.
