Wherever you are in the world, presenting a poster at a scientific conference is the traditional rite of passage for new researchers, and even the simplest of projects stands a good chance of being accepted if you know how to play the game. But if you haven't done it before, it can be very daunting. This presentation aims to de-mystify the whole process, from deciding on a project to selecting a suitable target conference, preparing the abstract, what to expect in the submission process and then (hopefully) the fun bit: simple tips on designing a poster, including the new trend for infographic-style posters.
