Using Checklists to Prevent Human Errors in Advanced Airway Management

Endotracheal intubation in the prehospital setting is often challenging and stressful. Evidence-based research tells us that in non-operating room settings, the stress of intubation and addition of human factors leads to a significant increase in risk of failure during intubation.  Implementing a simplified, single algorithm will help decrease errors related to human factors and aim to increase, knowledge, confidence, first pass success and help manage potential complications that may arise.
