Beyond ACLS: Special Topics in Cardiac Arrest

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

ACLS is a set of guidelines for general care, but what do you do with the patient who is refractory to treatment or doesn’t fit into the standard ACLS algorithms? Utilizing case studies, this session will look at patients with persistent ventricular fibrillation and tachycardia, toxin-induced arrests, traumatic arrest, and hypothermia. It will also review the latest literature on cardiac arrest resuscitation including termination of resuscitation based on time, ultrasound, and end-tidal capnography, post-arrest therapeutic hypothermia, intra-arrest thrombolytics, and more. Providers will leave the session feeling prepared to expand their cardiac arrest care beyond the basic H&Ts. Attend this session so you can take the latest research in cardiac arrest back to your agency and expand your critical thinking and procedural and pharmacology care to save more lives.
