Bidding for Your Own EMS Agency

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

What if we had to competitively bid for our fire-based EMS agency? Mergers in health care systems and ambulance providers are creating more competition in our environment. Never before has the public's demand for efficient, effective, and transparent services been greater. Whether a fire department is attempting to enter into a market that has historically been held by a private provider or the political landscape has created a competitive environment for all interested parties to bid on local services, it is imperative that fire departments understand how to successfully compete. This interactive session will explore the economic and operational strategies and necessary framework to successfully compete for fire-based EMS systems. In addition, case studies will be provided to demonstrate real-world fire-based successes as well as the common performance-based elements required in bids for emergency medical services. Public fire-based agencies must be armed with the strategies and metrics necessary to be successful in this environment. The session will provide attendees with a comprehensive understanding of the changing pre-hospital environment and the economic and operational efficiency necessary to be competitive in the procurement process.
