Bringing Back the Dead: The Revolutionary Rialto Approach to Improving SCA Outcomes

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

It is time for the EMS and Fire community to change the way it views cardiac arrest. Survival should be commonplace, not the exception. Achieving high survival rates is not as difficult as you might think. The Rialto (California) Fire Department has developed a Cardiac Arrest Survival Tool Box that, when fully implemented, improves cardiac arrest outcomes. Other agencies such as Lawrence-Douglas County (Kansas) Fire Medical have implemented this approach with modifications to fit into their system and have seen exciting preliminary results. Join Rialto EMS Chief, Joe Powell, and Lawrence-Douglas County’s EMS Division Chief, Kevin Joles, to learn about the science behind the tool box, how it can be implemented in your department, and be inspired to increase cardiac arrest survival for those who live, work and play in your community.
