Erik Gaull is a Nationally Registered Paramedic, a Pro Board-certified Fire Officer III and Fire Instructor III, and a law enforcement officer. He is the longest-serving responder with the Cabin John Park VFD in Montgomery County, Maryland. In his full-time work, Erik is a public safety/homeland security consultant who has worked in the U.S., Europe, Canada, Africa, and the Middle East. His recent projects include having led a study of EMS medical direction for the U.S. Navy and a study of the Marine Firefighting Unit for the D.C. Fire and EMS Department. He currently supports FEMA’s CBRNE Office and is the lead exercise designer on a classified exercise for the Defense Threat Reduction Agency.

Erik holds four premier peer-conferred professional designations – Certified Emergency Manager®, Certified Protection Professional®, Certified Business Continuity Professional®, and Project Management Professional®. Additionally, he has earned FEMA’s Master Exercise Practitioner, Professional Continuity Practitioner, and Advanced Professional Series recognitions.

Erik completed the Program for Senior Executives in State and Local Government at Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government and has earned an MBA and a Master of Public Policy from Georgetown University and a baccalaureate from Columbia University. He is also a certified Lean Six-Sigma Black Belt.
