Kenneth A Scheppke, MD, is a dual board certified specialist in the fields of Emergency Medicine and EMS (Emergency Medical Services). He serves as the EMS Medical Director for seven fire-rescue agencies in Palm Beach and Broward County, Florida, collectively serving a population of over 2 million people. Dr Scheppke is the recipient of numerous awards and honors including the 2017 EMS10: Innovators in EMS Award from JEMS. He has published numerous articles in both the peer reviewed scientific literature and trade EMS journals and is a recognized leader in the fields of adult cardiac arrest resuscitation, prehospital use of Ketamine, regional prehospital stroke triage systems, and EMS integration of medication assisted treatment for chronic opiate dependency. He has presented scientific abstracts both nationally and internationally at large scientific symposiums. Dr Scheppke is an active member of the prestigious and influential "Gathering of Eagles" consortium, speaking regularly at their annual conference on many advances in the fields of EMS and Emergency Medicine. Dr Scheppke volunteers his time during medical disasters such as the Haiti Earthquake and Hurricane Irma. He is also an instrument rated private pilot and routinely volunteers his time to fly animals at risk for euthanasia to safety.
